The Itasca Ministerial Alliance met at 10:00 a.m. on February 4 at Central Baptist Church. Present were:  James Boulding of Bethlehem Baptist; Johnny Bates, pastor of St. John Baptist; Matt Dugan, pastor of Central Baptist; Diane Barnes, First Presbyterian Hillsboro; Alex Howell, pastor of First Methodist Church.

The meeting was opened with prayer led by Johnny Bates.

Financial report showed a balance of $1, 886.63.  Two families in Itasca were helped with utility bills.

Old Business:

We looked over schedules for leading worship at Itasca Nursing Home and leading prayer at City Council meetings.  St. John is responsible for City Council prayer.  Methodist Church will lead worship at Nursing Home in February.  Third Day will be at the Nursing Home in March.

New Business:

President Matt Dugan showed us a Bible which we might want to purchase for the Seniors at Baccalaureate.  Everyone agreed.  We also discussed churches and/or individuals sponsoring some of these Bibles.  Baccalaureate will be on May 21 at 6:00 at Reconciled Church.  April 23 will be the deadline for getting us the name of any sponsors.

Plans were made for the Easter Sunrise Service on April 9 at 7:00 A.M.  It will be held at Lawless Park.  The service will consist of:

Prayer/Welcome – Johnny Bates

Songs – Steve Sawyer will be contacted about providing music

Scripture Reading – Alex Howell

Message – Matt Dugan

Closing Prayer – either Phillip Burch or Johnny Bates

We will check with Rose Handy about the flowers for the cross.

Under church reports:

The Methodist Church has mailed out cards to let Itascans know about their services.

Central Baptist is looking ahead to the summer.  Youth will attend camp the week of June 5 and younger youth the week of June 19.  VBS will be the week of July 17.  A steak dinner fundraiser will be held on March 31 to help with camp expenses.  The church’s Clothing Closet is still open on the 3rd Monday of each month.

Diane is still leading a Community Bible study at Central Baptist on Wednesdays at 2:00.  The current study is on the book of Amos.

The next meeting will be on March 4.
