The Itasca Wampus Cats won against the Hubbard Jaguars, on their home field Friday, September 2nd 2022. The final score was 28-20. Willie “Buddy” Jackson III had a great game as quarterback with two rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown to wide receiver Jakorian “Kori” Shaw. Kayd Lightsey had a 71 yard kick return for a touchdown as the first play of the game. All in all, it was a great game. It was definitely a battle; they fought ’till the very end.

               On the defensive side of the ball, the team did a great job holding up Hubbard’s offense. Our seniors, Kayd Lightsey had leading tackles with nine tackles, seven assists, four tackles for loss, and one interception. Alex Andrade, was second leading in tackles with eight tackles, four assists, and one tackle for loss. 

            The Wampus Cats would like to give a huge shoutout to Coach Law for keeping their heads up and making sure the team didn’t shoot themselves in the foot. They also appreciate all the support they are getting from everyone who comes out to support their games. Everyone be sure to come out to the game in Frost to support our boys this Friday, September 9th, 2022.
