Today, the Itasca HS campus would like to welcome Mr. Andrade to the district. His full name is Roney Sebastian Andrade Villamil, and he is originally from Ecuador, with his hometown being Chone, Equador. He went to the University of Texas at Austin, an obtained his Bachelors of Science in Physics. Mr. Andrade is currently teaching Geometry and Financial Math because he sees it as a stepping stone to one day teaching physics. Andrade has been teaching for 2 1/2 years. He was a sub for half a year and has chosen Itasca because he wanted to be a physics teacher. He came from teaching at Fossil Ridge HS. If he wasn’t teaching he would be “reading, going out to the movie theaters, or tutoring.” Something that inspires him to teach is finding students who get a spark of curiosity in his subjects. He likes to describe himself as ” caring, patient, and curious.” When in HS he would find himself rollerblading in his free time and a brief math athlete. One of his role models is his cousin Jose Andrade, who is a Caltech Engineer. His favorite food is “Ceviche” (like a cold soup with fish). His favorite movie is “Whiplash 2014” and his favorite book is “One Hundred Years of Solitude.” Finally, his advice to HS students is “You should find your place in the world, and do what you find is most important to you.”
