On 2/22/2025 Highschool girls had a powerlifting in Dubling, Dubling was One hour and thirty-seven minutes away from Itasca ISD. The powerlifting meet did not start until half past eight in the morning everyone that was gonna Participate in the meet had to be at the school at quarter to six in the morning even though the ride was long everyone on that bus was locked in and ready to compete. Once we reached Dubling the girls had an hour and a half to relax and eat before starting, there were about a hundred and forty-seven lifters at the Dubling powerlifting meet. When the meet began every lifter started on squat, starting with Elena Mares she was the second lifter in the regional meet for the weight class of 198 she lifted two-hundred twenty-five pounds in squats, benched hundred Fifty pounds, deadlifted two-hundred fifty-five pounds in total she lifted six hundred thirty pounds. Coming in at our second lifter was Aubrey Middleton standing in the one hundred fourteen weight class. She squatted one hundred eighty-five, benched one hundred fifteen, and deadlifted one hundred ninety in total four hundred ninety. With our third lifter Sarah Lacy she squatted two hundred forty, benched one hundred thirty, deadlifted two hundred sixty-five in total, and came up to six hundred thirty-five.
Going with our four lifter Abigail Nyczaj her squat was two hundred fifty-five, benched one hundred fifty-five, deadlifted two hundred ninety which was a total of seven hundred. Coming at the end of our meet our last lifter was Heaven Watkins she squatted two hundred seventy, benched one hundred twenty-five, deadlifted two hundred thirty-five with her total coming at a total of six hundred thirty. For the 2025 regional meet- final Places: Aubrey Middleton 7th place 123 LB weight class, Abigail Nyczaj 6th place 148 LB weight class, Sarah Lacy 6th 181 LB weight class, Elena Mares 9th 198 LB weight class, Heaven Watkins 5th place 220 LB weight class. Our girls had a great season they pushed themselves self everyday to place in meets and had fun lifting.
At the end of this meet I will say this everyone was excited for the chilies I don’t know why but they LOVED IT it was a fun day and a great meet the girls can’t wait for next year.
