Itasca Vs. Bartlett- Homecoming Recap!
Homecoming, a word that makes everyone nervous yet excited whether you’re a football player or not. Asking that girl, suiting up for a battle, or getting to see the game, on homecoming night everyone has something to be nervous about. Not here in Itasca, Texas, we are ready for anyone that tries to knock us down and our boys did a good job showing that against Bartlett. Our boys really put it on them with a final score of 47-16.
Starting off the game strong with our amazing defense recovering a fumble. Again, our leading defender, Kayd Lightsey, led the defense with 10 tackles and 6 assists. Alex Andrade had 8 tackles and 4 assists playing well for himself. Brayden Cole had a strong defensive game as well with 3 tackles, 5 assists, and 1 caused fumble and recovery. Letting Bartlett squeeze out only 16 on the board.
The Itasca Wampus Cat Offense did well for themselves as well putting up 47 against Bartlett’s Defense. With David Torres 16 attempts rushing with 115 yards and 2 touchdowns. Buddy Jackson with 5 rushes 58 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 passing touchdown to Gavin Sewell.
Everyone on our side of the ball at least, was happy with the outcome of the game. 47-16 on Homecoming night will be on people’s minds for quite a while considering the school’s past record not going too well 1-9, or 2-8. Not here in the new and improved Itasca 4-0 starting off district strong!
