Who doesn’t crave something sweet every now and then? Well.. I tend to have a sweet tooth for a few sweet pastries. In this case I’m talking about CINNAMON ROLLS! In today’s “How To..” I’m going to give you a recipe/tutorial on baking cinnamon rolls!
Ingredients:
Dough- 1 cup warm milk, 2 ¼ tsp instant dry yeast (1pack), 2 large eggs, ⅓ cup butter softened (room temp or until not cold/hard), ½ cup sugar, 4 cups flour.
Filling- ½ cup butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp cinnamon.
Frosting- 2 tbsp melted butter, 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream, 1 ½ cup powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract.
Instructions
Now if you don’t have a mixer it’s quite alright you can also do this by hand!
First pour your milk in a bowl or mixer, sprinkle your yeast overtop and allow it to rest for 3-4 mins, then add your eggs, butter and sugar. Mix until the eggs are combined. Begin to add your flour and stir until the mixture is all together (or just combined). Stop your mixer and allow the dough to sit for 5 minutes. You will then add your dough hook to knead for 5 minutes. If using your hand, knead for around 5-10 minutes or until formed in a slightly sticky ball. Grease your hands and bowl, place dough inside the greased bowl and let it rise for 1-2 hours (until doubled in size).
As you’re waiting, this would be the perfect time to begin mixing all of ingredients for the filling. Once finished rising, place flour on where you plan to roll your dough and your roller (or it will not roll properly). After you’ve rolled it, add your filling, roll it up into a burrito, and cut into 1-2 inch slices. When you’ve completed this,, place in a greased baking dish. Allow it to rise once more for 30 mins. Then cover and place in the refrigerator overnight or bake.
If you choose to refrigerate, let them come to room temperature for a moment before placing in the oven. Lastly, bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes and frost them while warm and out of the oven. Now you can enjoy a sweet treat with family, friends and wait for the compliments to arrive on your baking skills!
