On Tuesday, March 4th, the rain and high winds that blew through Central Texas packed a high punch, leaving everything from debris in the streets and power outages for Itasca and neighboring communities. Itasca ISD ultimately canceled school due to power outages caused by multiple transformers being down in the district. Hilco provided an outage update on Tuesday. “High winds have caused downed poles and outages across our service area. Currently approximately 2, 500 members are without power. Our linemen are in the field, working as safely and quickly as possible to restore service. Thank you for being patient, and remember to stay clear of downed powerlines.” School returned on Wednesday, March 5th, and Itasca powered was restored.
