On this week’s edition of the ‘How To…’ series I will be teaching you how to do a simple braid with your own hair. If you have trouble braiding or your hair just ends up in a knot when you do try to braid yourself, then maybe I can help you.
The first step of braiding is: You should have your mind set on what kind of braid you are doing. The easiest type of braid to do would be a twist, it’s a simple but unique braid that not many people do.
After you have completed the second step, next would be brushing out your hair, no matter the length of your hair you should always brush it out before you braid your own hair so when you’re sectioning your hair it won’t be painful or a struggle to do.
you are sectioning your hair, if it is a twist, separate your hair into two different pieces, keep them between two different fingers to keep them separate. Although, usually you would section your hair off into 3 separate sections, if you intend to do two separate braids make sure to do the same steps on the other side.
The fourth and final step step of braiding your hair (using twists as an example) would be to quite literally twist the two sections of hair into tight twists and wrap them around each other, then make sure to tie them with a hair tie before you let go of the tightly twisted strands. Once tied, let go of the tight twist, and if done correctly you should be left with a simple yet elegant hair style.
