The Itasca Ministerial Alliance met at 10:00 a.m. on January 7th at Third Day Worship Center.

Present were: Rose Handy, Third Day; Johnny Bates, pastor of St. John Baptist; Matt Dugan, pastor of Central Baptist; Diane Barnes, First Presbyterian Hillsboro; Alex Howell, pastor of First Methodist Church

The meeting was opened with prayer led by Johnny Bates.
Financial report showed a balance of $2,186.63.

In November, turkeys were purchased for the
Thanksgiving Dinner Boxes. Total cost was $1217.60. Cost of the turkeys was covered by donations from Bethlehem Baptist, St. John, First Methodist, and Central Baptist.

Old Business:
Our Thanksgiving Boxes blessed many Itascans. The Community Thanksgiving Service was held at Third Day and was an inspiration to everyone in attendance. Offering was $231.00.

New Business:
Nursing Home Worship Service schedules and City Council schedules were handed out for 2023.
The Alliance discussed possibly having relatives, friends, church members, etc. sponsor Bibles for this year’s seniors. Diane will get a list of seniors from the high school before the next
meeting.

Under church reports:
The Methodist Church has welcomed a new pastor, Alex Howell. We look forward to getting to know him and working with him.
Central Baptist is looking ahead to the summer. Youth will attend camp the week of June 5 and younger youth the week of June 19. VBS will be the week of July 17. A steak dinner fundraiser will be held on March 31 to help with camp expenses. The church’s Clothing Closet is still open on the 3rd Monday of each month.

Diane reported that First Presbyterian Hillsboro has a new pastor, Rev. Craig Krueger. Diane is still leading a Community Bible study at Central Baptist on Wednesdays at 2:00. The current
study is on the book of Amos.

President Rose Handy informed the Alliance that she will be stepping down as President.
Members asked Matt Dugan to prayerfully consider taking this position.
The next meeting will be on February 4.
