ITASCA MINISTERIAL ALLIANCE MEETING

APRIL 1, 2023

The Itasca Ministerial Alliance met at 9:00 a.m. on April 1 at Central Baptist Church. Present were: James Bouldin of Bethlehem Baptist; Johnny Bates, pastor of St. John Baptist; Matt
Dugan, pastor of Central Baptist; Diane Barnes, First Presbyterian Hillsboro; Rose Handy, Third Day.

The meeting was opened with prayer led by Johnny Bates.
Financial report showed a balance of $1,786.63. Two families in Itasca were helped with utility bills.

Regular Business:
Bethlehem Baptist will lead worship at the Nursing Home during the month of April.
Reconciled Church will be responsible in May, and St. John’s in June.
Central Baptist will lead prayer at City Council meeting on April 17, Reconciled on May 15, and Bethlehem on June 19.

Upcoming Business:
Plans were finalized for the Easter Sunrise Service on April 9 at 7:00 A.M. It will be held at Lawless Park. The service will consist of:
Prayer/Welcome – Johnny Bates
Songs – Steve Sawyer
Scripture Reading – Alex Howell
Message – Matt Dugan
Closing Prayer – Phillip Burch
Rose Handy will check on flowers for the cross. Matt contacted City about putting the cross up. We will purchase the NLT Premium Value Thinline Bibles for the graduates. Bulk pricing is $10.99 each. We’re asking for churches to donate $10 per graduate to cover the cost. As of now, there are 42 graduates. Ministerial Alliance will cover the difference in the cost. Deadline for giving is April 23, 2023.

Baccalaureate Service will be May 21 at 6:00 at Reconciled Church. Order of worship:

Under church reports:
Pastor Johnny Bates announced that St. John Baptist had celebrated their 102 nd anniversary.
Third Day will have a Good Friday service 5-7 p.m. and Easter Service at 10.
Central Baptist had a successful steak dinner fundraiser for camp. They will have a Good Friday service at 5:30. Easter Sunday there will be a Family Breakfast and an egg hunt following
worship. VBS will be July 17-21.

The Itasca VFD will have a Fish Fry Fundraiser on April 14.
Diane is still leading a Community Bible study at Central Baptist on Wednesdays at 2:00. The current study is “In the Footsteps of the Savior” by Max Lucado.
The next meeting will be on May 13 at 9:00 a.m. at Central Baptist.
