If you have had glasses for most of your life this is a huge step for you! But if you haven’t and are just going straight to contacts, congratulations! Many people, myself included, have found contacts to be intimidating, not to mention expensive. That is why in this “How…To” I will be explaining how to apply contacts!
To buy contacts, you will need to figure out your prescription. You can find out by visiting the eye doctor and purchasing contacts from them.
First, open your container slowly to avoid spilling or dropping the contacts. Now, with your pointer finger, carefully glide your finger upwards. Once you have the lens, with your other hand, carefully pinch the contact off and place it facing upwards on the same finger.
If you have followed these steps, great job! Now it is time to apply the lens.
Begin by making sure you are in front of a mirror. With the hand that does not have the lens, gentally open up your upper eyelid. With your other hand, bring your finger with the lens close to your eye. Gently place the contact in the center of your eyeball. This might take a couple of tries, but be patient. If the lens is not applying after a while, try placing the lens into the solution and trying again. Once applied, look up and blink a few times to help settle it in. Remember that practice makes perfect!
Now you have completed! Enjoy your contacts and perfect vision!
