Itasca was on fire tonight during their game against Meridian! Right off the bat, they scored 3 points in the first couple of innings, gaining the lead. However, the team would be on a standstill for the next couple of innings. But that would change by the time the 6th inning came when #2, Aydan Villarreal, and #24, Brayden Daniels, struck out two Meridian players in one run! That momentum continued during the 7th inning as Maddox Abrego hit the ball deep into the field, making it to third base. Soon after that, Aydan Villarreal hits another ball deep into the field, barely getting out of reach to one of the Meridian players. Just when you think it was over, Caden Littlejohn with another deep ball, almost out of the field! All three made it to home base, totaling the score to 8 in favor of Itasca. Leading player #5, Gage Basset, starting as pitcher, surrendered four hits and one run over six innings, striking out four and walking none. This team prevented multiple players from scoring and struck out many Meridian players before they could reach first base. Way to go, cats!
