Opening up a bank account can be tricky and confusing if not done properly. In this “How To..” I will explaining how to open a bank account!

First off , compare banks based off of their interest rates, fees, and features to your needs. Depending on bank of your choice, prepare to have necessary documents such as SSN, any type of government issued photo ID, proof of address, or having even having to pay a deposit of a few dollars or even hundreds.

Next, apply.  If applying online, follow the steps on the website and provide any information it is asking. Depending on the type of account you are trying to open, the application process can be different. If in person, complete application and provide any additional information.

Lastly, the bank will ask to verify any information you have provided and might even ask to collect more information about you. Once verified, your account should be opened within a few business days . If mainly done online, it should only take about a few minutes to be opened depending on the bank.
