HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE PUBLIC NOTICE
In coordination with Hill County, the City of Abbott, City of Aquilla, City of Blum, Town of Bynum, City of Carl’s Corner, City of Covington, City of Hillsboro, City of Hubbard, City of Itasca, City of Malone, City of Mertens, City of Mount Calm, City of Penelope, and City of Whitney are updating the Hill County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HMAP). The Plan Update will address hazards that affect the area. The goal of the Plan Update is to minimize or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from known hazards through effective mitigation. Public input will help the planning team analyze potential hazards affecting residents and recommend possible actions to reduce their impact.
The County will hold the first public meeting on Tuesday June 3, 2025 @ 5:30 p.m. to gather public input for their Hazard Mitigation Plan. The meeting will be held at 218 N. Waco St., Hillsboro TX 76645.
The purpose of the public meeting is to provide a project overview from H2O Partners, Inc., consultant to the project, and solicit information from citizens. Public input will help the project team to analyze potential hazards affecting residents and recommend possible actions to reduce their impact.
