ITASCA MINISTERIAL ALLIANCE MEETING
April 5, 2025
The Itasca Ministerial Alliance met on April 5, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church.
Churches represented: Methodist, St. John’s Baptist, Bethlehem Baptist, Central Baptist,
Reconciled Church, Third Day Worship Center, and First Presbyterian Hillsboro. Special guest,
Tonya Harris Superintendent Itasca ISD
Meeting was opened with prayer led by Matt Dugan
Financial report showed a balance of $2185.60.
Pastor Matt Dugan reviewed Nursing Home and City Council calendars. Superintendent Harris was given the opportunity to address the meeting. She gave a presentation on the upcoming School Bond election. She presented facts and figures, the scope of the bond, and answered any questions that churches may have. She also offered to come and share with individual congregations if they would extend an invitation. She gave members her personal cell phone and asked them to remember that the election day was set for May 3, 2025 at the new admin building. Early voting in the weeks before.
Mentor’s Care was discussed by Matt Dugan. Several Minister’s Alliance members have served as mentors for the High School. The year is wrapping up, but they will need more mentors next year. Continue to encourage our congregations to volunteer.
The 2025 Schedule was reviewed:
● The Easter Sunday Sunrise Service was discussed. It will be April 20 at 7:00 a.m. at Lawless
Park. We will confirm with Reconciled as a backup if weather is poor.
○ Prayer/Welcome – Matt Dugan – Central Baptist
○ Songs – Methodist
○ Scripture Reading – Johnny Bates – St. John’s
○ Message – Philip Burch – Reconciled (still need to confirm)
○ Closing Prayer – Alex Howell – Methodist
○ Donuts – Matt or Diane will pick up IMA will provide
● National Day of Prayer is May 1. The event will take place at the Hill Co Courthouse, noon.
Flyers were distributed for the congregations to pass out.
● Baccalaureate Service will be May 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church. There will be 46
seniors. We will purchase Bibles for them and ask for “given by” sponsors.
● Several activities for fall were also discussed. Possible Sexual Abuse Awareness Events were
discussed.
Under Church Reports:
● Methodist is providing candy for the City Easter Egg Hunt and hosting a movie night on
Good Friday
● Third Day will have 2 services at 9:00 & 11:00 am on both Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday.
They are hosting a Couples event on April 18 in Abbott, TX.
● Chris Nava is looking to do Meals in the Park this Summer.
● Central Baptist will have Good Friday services and was thankful for all who supported their
steak fundraiser on March 28. 20+ kids and adults are going to 2 summer camps.
● Bethlehem Baptist will have a Easter Egg hunt for their congregation on Easter Sunday.
And Hosting a special service on Sat April 19.
● Reconciled is planning VBS for June 18-20
The Alliance will meet on May 10 at 9:00 a.m. at Central Baptist so as not to compete with Cinco de Mayo Celebration on May 3.
The meeting was closed with prayer led by Victor Arellano.
