Alvin Thao (17) was born on October 28, 2007, in Arlington, Texas, to his parents, Sao Thao and Maidoog Yaj. He is the youngest of his family, with four siblings: Angelina, Anodorra, Leu, and Andrew.

He has attended Itasca ever since he was old enough to attend school. He participates in the Itasca High School band, NHS, and Yearbook. One of Alvin’s favorite teachers at Itasca is Mrs. Mears.

Alvin’s role model is his father, who is someone he would also like to thank for helping him get this far in life. Along with his father, his online friends, and Roy Perales are people who have made a difference in his life.

After he graduates from high school, he plans to get a stable job so that he can start earning money before attending the University of Austin in Texas. He doesn’t have a specific plan in 10 years; however, he sees himself working a 9-5 job by then.

He had only one piece of advice for the underclassmen: “Do your work.”
