Itasca Varsity Football Vs. Cayuga Wildcats
Our Itasca Varsity boys sadly took another close loss last Friday night- October 14th, 2022. Cayuga ran the ball a whole lot, as well as, running the clock down; it ended up being a pretty quick game. Our Itasca boys put up a real good fight on defense, but were sadly lacking on the offensive side of the ball, only scoring one touchdown with Gavin Sewell running the ball 67 yards.
Defense stopped the Cayuga offense plenty of times keeping them back, but sadly they were close enough to make two field goals tying the game 6 to 6 at halftime. The Cayuga offense only scored one more touchdown by the end of the game, as well as, making the extra point kick ending the game 6-13. Sophomore Maddox Abrego had 4 tackles and 10 assists playing a great game for himself stopping Cayuga. Gavin Sewell had 7 solo tackles and 5 assists for 1 interception. Another Sophomore starter Robert Ford had 9 solo tackles with 4 assists.
