Obituary: Glenda Sue Collins

Glenda Sue (Davidson) Collins, 79, of Itasca, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Homestead Nursing Home in Itasca. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 9, 2024, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro with Pastor Brian Upchurch officiating. A burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery, Hillsboro. Visitation will take place from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Marshall & Marshall, Hillsboro. Glenda was born May 24, 1944, to Marvin Jay and Annie Ruth (Boyce) Davidson, in Hillsboro.

She was raised in Hillsboro and worked at Homestead Nursing Home, Itasca for twenty-seven years. Glenda was a hardworking mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and put everyone before herself. She loved the nursing home residents she worked for, and she was always willing to help anyone in need. Glenda was a member of Community Church of Itasca. Preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Sandra Kay Upchurch and Ruby Faye Upchurch; granddaughter, Veronica Sue Barnard; great-granddaughter, Quinnley Kate Johns; and multiple aunts and uncles, Glenda is survived by her children, Kelly Barnard, Toni Tinsley, and Marvin (Sambo) Collins; her grandchildren, Casa Johns and husband, Kyle, Justin Collins, Christi Peppers and husband, Brian and Colton Trent Sullins; sixteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
