It’s no doubt that a very cold air has taken over Itasca, and all of Texas for that matter. Though Tuesday and Wednesday will be plenty cold and dry, a big change is expected to arrive as we get closer to the weekend. The change will arrive on Thursday morning when a wintry mix of precipitation is expected to begin falling in North and Central Texas. This could mean accumulating snow for some areas. While it’s still early to predict, local meteorologists are saying anywhere from 2 to 5 inches of snow in certain areas of the Metroplex. As for Itasca, we are expected to see freezing rain, and we will have to wait and see about snow. The snow/icy mixtures will come to an end on Friday morning and early afternoon. Weekend highs will melt the snow/ice and it’ll warm back up leading into the weekend and next week.
Remember to protect your plants, your pipes, your pets, and check on your neighbors/elderly! Bundle up and stay safe! The PPP will continue reporting on the conditions of the first Winter Storm of 2025!
