Meet the teacher, Tasha Bell, also known as Mrs. Bell. She has been teaching for 21 years. She used to work as a math coach at Hillsboro before she came to Itasca. Mrs. Bell chose to work in Itasca because she had previously worked here a long time ago and came to help the district with math. She was born in Dallas, TX. Mrs. Bell graduated from Baylor University with a B.A. in Sociology and Public Relations. “I pursued a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at UT-Austin.” She is the district Math Interventionist, and she chose this because she loves helping struggling students gain a love for math. Tasha’s husband’s name is John Bell. They have two kids: a daughter (Laney) who is 20 and currently in nursing school, and a son (Blane) who is currently in eighth grade at Itasca JH. Tasha would describe herself in three words as, “caring, loving, and helpful”. Growing up, she used attend Duncanville from Kindergarten through 8th Grade, and then went to high school at Rivercrest High School in Bogota, Texas. She was a cheerleader, and also played basketball and softball in high school. Mrs. Bell would be a nurse if she weren’t teaching because she loves helping others. Her favorite food is any type of Mexican food, and she also loves sweet tea with peach. Her favorite movie is “Sweet Home Alabama”, and her favorite quote would be ,”In a world where you can be anything, be Kind.” We are so lucky to have her at Itasca ISD!
