To join our Teacher Appreciation Series, I decided to ask Lilliam Sandoval, who is currently a sophomore at Itasca HS, and her favorite teacher is Mr. Bronar! She enjoys the new projects he introduces, how he helps out when needed, when he gives advice, along with his kind and patient character towards everyone.
Bronar was born on January 3rd of 2000, although he was supposed to be born on Christmas Day, but was a late baby. He is from Maypearl, but was born in Dallas and had spent his first few years of life in Desoto, then later moved to Maypearl and stayed K-12. Bronar came to Itasca in 2022-2023 and is currently in his third year working at Itasca. He loves playing music along with listening to it, he especially enjoys watching college football, playing sports when he has the time. His favorite band would have to be Led Zeppelin, and favorite song would be anything by Led Zeppelin.
A great struggle he faced as a teacher would be in the beginning of his teaching career, when he would have to word stuff to where students would understand what he would try to portray. “I think coming from the welding industry to teaching is quite different cause in that industry everyone had all the same background experience and then coming here I end up being the one with the most experience and trying to explain, was difficult because I would have to remember, their kids, they don’t necessarily know what I’m trying to tell them.” Greatest thing he has gained would be the good feeling you get when you’ve made an impact on kids, whether it be in finding a career, hobby, something they enjoy doing, or even setting them up for a job after HS.
His least favorite class while in HS was Geometry, but his favorite would have to be Ag. Advice he would give to future educators is “Make sure you try to have a plan, list out your goals for the year, make sure you know where you want to go, and have patience.” Finally if Bronar wasn’t a teacher he would be welding because that is what he did after he got out of HS.
