Welcome back, students! The school year has begun, and we have officially survived the first full week of school!!! I understand not many are excited about this school year, but let’s remember not to bring any negativity to this new year. To get started, I have interviewed two students, along with two teachers, to gather their thoughts and advice on how to start this school year prepared and strong.
Advice to start the year: āLock in, take it super serious, cause it’ll matter in the long run. āMake sure to bring a pencil on the first day at least.āĀ
How to stay motivated for the first few weeks: āRemember, itās your future. āMy friends are my motivation, cause I look forward to seeing them and my favorite teachers.ā
Something you wish someone had told you before coming back: āTo mentally prepare yourself, āTry to make a lot of new friends and be social.ā
Azirel Hernandez, a Junior, and Aiden Rodriguez, a sophomore, gave all answers.
Now, we all make mistakes in our way, but let’s hear a few words from our teachers about the mistakes students often make at the beginning of the school year.
āStudents often procrastinate, thinking we have unlimited time, but it eventually becomes a pit you can’t get out of.ā A solution to this situation is to make a schedule and dedicate an exact amount of time for each task; it makes getting work done much smoother than you would think. – Mrs. White
āVery complacent with their attitude, and by the end of the year, they often lose focus.ā It’s not uncommon among students to become unmotivated, but to get out of this, be in the right environment, and maybe don’t sit with someone who will make you talk and not focus. – Mr. Andrade
