This week on featuring freshman band members, we have Rileigh Smith! She has been a part of band for four years since 6th grade and plays the flute currently. She also plays the clarinet as a hobby at home, but she would definitely want’s to keep playing the flute.
She says the best thing about marching is the repetition of when you figure out what to do, but she says it’s hard because it’s new thing she’s doing. She isn’t involved in anything else but is happy where she is. Her favorite memory from being in band was when she and her friend were messing around and had to play her instrument but her friend ended up falling from her seat and Rileigh thought it was hilarious, she remembers it very fondly.
