For this week’s Senior Spotlight we would like to introduce Marlyn Jacobo. Marlyn was born on May 28th, 2008, in Hillsboro, Texas. Her parents are Edith Flores and Luis Jacobo. Marlyn is 18 years old and the oldest to her two younger sisters who are 4 and 5 Vanessa and Denise. Marlyn has attended Itasca since Pre-K.
After graduation she plans to attend college at Texas Womens University to become a dental hygienist. For her extracurricular activities Marlyn is in the National Honor Society and The Paw Print Press/Yearbook Staff. Her advice for underclassmen would be, “Always at least try, in whatever you do.” Her favorite teachers have been Mr. Loya, Mrs. Lemons, Mrs. Mears, and Mrs. Enger.
When asked who her role model throughout her life has been Marlyn says, “My dad because he’s very strong, he doesn’t let things get to him, and he always tries his hardest in whatever he does.” Marlyn says her grandmother has made the biggest difference in her life because she has always been wise with her words and given her the best advice. She would like to thank her parents, grandma, and siblings for getting her this far in life. 10 years from now she sees herself “living that rich life.”
