On March 14, the boys competed at West for the boys’ regional powerlifting meet. Chevee Copeland placed 2nd in his weight class and advanced to the state level. March 27, he competed at Abilene for the boys’ state powerlifting meet, placing in the top 14 in Division 4 in the entire state. He worked his butt off and competed in this powerlifting season! All the early morning and afternoon practices are the result of this. He left it all on the floor that day, lifting in honor of Romeo. With this, the powerlifting season comes to an end. Head powerlifting coach, Robert Arrington, shared his thoughts: “Chevee competed at State and we are super proud of him!! He rose to the occasion and exceeded every expectation we had for this year. It was a memorable experience and a great incentive to train and return next year!! Way to represent Itasca High School and our community!! Go Wampus Cats!!”
