On April 24, 2026 all 8th grade students went on a field trip to the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum for English. We learned about how serious the holocaust was and how it impacted people. There was a real boxcar from the war and they explained how up to 150 people were put in there to transport for 2-14 days with no food, water, or restroom access. At the end of our trip there was a speaker who told us about how she survived the Rwanda Genocide in 1994. She was only 14 when she lived through it, and now she is in her 40’s with two kids! This trip taught us about how to be an upstander rather than a bystander, meaning to intentionally take action to stand up for others.
