Itasca ISD would like to welcome Cara Westbury to the district. Mrs. Cara graduated from Hill College for Cosmetology in 1998 and from Northwood University in 2005 for Business Management. She was born in Corsicana, Tx and went to Waxahachie HS. While in school she did theater, and was in Newspaper Staff. Her role model as a child/adult was/is her mom. Her family consists of her husband Ryan, her two daughters Mckenzie and Madelyn, along with her two grandsons Eli and Asher. Mrs. Westbury would like to describe herself as “intuitive, determined, and compassionate.” Before coming to Itasca, Cara worked at Ellis County District Attorney’s Office. Once retiring as a hairstylist, and closing her salon, Cara was looking for work closer to home. She was excited to find out Itasca ISD was hiring, and that her husband and his family had attended Itasca from K-12. Something unique about Cara, is she once did actress Jennifer Coolidge’s hair. She enjoys decorating and cooking. She also has two pets: her cat Leo and dog Shiner. Cara’s favorite food and drink is Mexican food/steak and sweet tea. She enjoys the movie “Steel Magnolias”, and the book “I’ll be Gone in the Dark” by Michelle McNamara. Her favorite quote is “Beginnings are scary. Endings are usually sad, but it’s what’s in the middle that counts. So, when you find yourself at the beginning, just give hope a chance to float up. And it will.” And lastly advice she would like to give to HS students is “follow good advice, ask a lot of questions, and always be willing to learn new things.”
