For this week’s athlete of the week, we have Dawson Mears! Dawson is a 16-year-old sophomore who is involved in football, baseball, and basketball. He is currently a pitcher and infielder for baseball (#3) and was a wide receiver/outside linebacker for football (#3/#5). He has been a part of these sports since he was 6. When asked what accomplishment he is most proud of, he said, “scoring 30 points in a basketball game.”
I continued to ask him who one athlete inspires him, and he said the famous Dominican baseball player Adrián Beltré, who is a third baseman for the Texas Rangers. His advice for people wanting to start sports is not to stop trying, and good luck.
We are so proud of Dawson and are excited to see where his future stands.
