The Itasca Wampus Cat girls took on Holland in their season opener. The JV team started the night off at 5:00 p.m., putting up a strong fight. Although they didn’t come out with the win, the girls showed great effort and determination in a close battle against Holland.
Varsity hit the court at 6:15 p.m., bringing energy and focus from the start. The first two periods were intense, with both teams trading baskets and keeping the score tied. But midway through the second half, the Lady Wampus Cats found their rhythm and took control of the game—building a commanding 30-point lead with five minutes remaining.
When the final buzzer sounded, Itasca came out on top with a 56–20 victory over Holland. It was an impressive performance and an exciting way to start the season. Great job, Wampus Cats!
