For this week’s Wampus Cat of the Week, we would like to introduce Anya Mays! Anya Mays is a senior this year at Itasca High School. Anya participates in the Interact Club, National Honor Society, varsity basketball, varsity track, and was a trainer for football. Anya has a strong passion for running track, and she plans on running track in college. She is an amazing athlete and student who excels well in both her sport and academics.
When asked what motivates Anya, she responds with, “My teammates, myself, and the Lord. I know I need to be my own motivation because I want to push myself to be the best I can be. The Lord is who ultimately motivates me; it is because of him that I can do all of these things, and for that I am grateful.” When faced with challenges, Anya says she likes to think of ways around the situation, and she tries her best to solve her problems effectively and without stressing over things so much.
Anya demonstrates great discipline, positive attitude, and a great work ethic. She is kind, with a great personality, and is a good friend to those around her. We love and appreciate you here at Itasca High School. Keep being the best version of yourself Anya!
