Hello Wampus Cats! This week I am writing about what 3rd–5th grade did on Work Out Wednesday, February 18.
Third grade ran four laps around the track, which equals one mile. Fifth grade ran five laps, or one mile and one-fourth. At each corner of the track there was a different exercise station, and at every station we had to do the workout ten times. The first station was ten sit-ups, the second was ten pushups, the third was ten mountain climbers, and the last station was ten squats.
Fourth grade did something different called “the cards.” If you landed on a card with the number five, you had to do the exercise five times. Their workouts included jumping jacks, crunches, squat jumps, and mountain climbers.
One fifth grader told me they did not like this workout at all. They said they were jogging the entire time and felt extremely tired by their third lap. They also did not like doing the ten pushups. A third grader I interviewed said her ribs felt broken and she did not enjoy it. A fourth grader said it felt like torture and that their legs were sore the next day.
Even though Work Out Wednesday was very hard, it helped make us stronger, and we still love our teacher, Ms. Courtney.
