For this week’s senior spotlight, we would like to introduce Santiago! Santiago Figueroa (17) was born on August 11, 2008, in Los Angeles, California. His parents are Sandra Figueroa and Gelacio Figueroa. He has a younger sister, Emilia Figueroa (15).
Santiago has been at Itasca since 4th grade. Throughout high school, Santiago has participated in athletics, and he is in Hill College for welding. His favorite teachers are Mr. Patterson and Mrs. Lemons. His advice for underclassmen is, “Pay attention in your classes, because I didn’t.”
When asked who his role model is, Santiago says, “My dad, because he has taught me a lot of the things I know, and I want to be like him when I grow up. He is also the person who has made the biggest difference in my life.” Santiago would like to thank his parents for getting him this far in life.
After high school, Santiago plans to work in welding and get into bucking bull stock contracting. In 10 years, Santiago hopes he will have settled down with his own house, ranch, business, and family.
