For this week’s senior spotlight, we would like to introduce Andres! Andres Campos Cruz Jr (18) was born on November 5th, 2007, in Hillsboro, Texas. His parents are Maria Campos and Andres Cruz. He has a younger brother Elian (13) and an older sister Noelia (23).
Andres has been at Itasca since 4th grade. Throughout high school, Andres has participated in football, basketball, baseball, and FFA. His favorite teachers are Coach Montes and Mrs. Lemons. His advice for underclassmen is, “Your grades are your reputation.”
When asked who his role model is, Andres says, “My dad because he always taught me right from wrong and told me if there’s something I want to do, then go do it and don’t let anybody stop me.” Andres says his cousin Michael has made the biggest difference in his life because he was there whenever he needed him. He would like to thank God for getting him this far in life.
After high school, Andres plans to go to college for kinesiology. In 10 years, Andres sees himself as a boys’ head soccer coach at a 6a school, being successful.
